It is a sheaf of straw bunched together in a shape of bale to take arrows at point-blank range, as the training of Kyudo-shaho Hassetsu (eight arts of shooting an arrow), checking the characteristic of bow, or warming up in Kyudo or Kyujutsu, the art of Japanese archery.
